Agra Fort- A Sprawling tower is filled with interesting history

Agra Fort, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh is a well known monument of India. Agra Fort is a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site elongates along the Yamuna River and 2.5 km northwesterly of The Taj. The Walled City can be the alternative name of the Fort.

The fort had been captivated by Mughals After Panipat War, one huge precious metal captured by mughals from Hindu Sikarwar Rajputs that was later known as the Koh-i-Noor diamond. It was remarked first time in 1080 AD when a Ghaznavide force enchanted it. Sikandar Lodi (1488–1517) was the first Emperor of India who dislodged to Agra and experienced Agra Fort. At that time the country was regularized from here and Agra presumed the importance of the second capital. He kicked the bucket in the fort in 1517.
Recognizing the importance of its fundamental position, after making Agra his capital, Mughal King Akbar had arrived in Agra in 1558.Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, constructed the beautiful Taj Mahal for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan inclined to have buildings made from white marble, that mean he had not followed The Great Akbar, often decorated with gold or semi-precious gems. Some of the earlier buildings had been destroyed by him inside the fort in order to create his own.
The fort was the site of a struggle during the Indian insurrection of 1857. the same was reason of the end of the British East India Company’s rule in India, and extended to a century of lead rule of India by Britain. Abul Fazal in his chronicles referred that Agra Fort had over five hundred buildings. Most of the buildings lent later by various emperors use marble as the chief structure material. River Yamuna touched the fort at the time of Akbar and thus, a number of ghats were constructed here. Some of these ghats were intended to load and unload goods shipped via river and other covered transitions were for employ by the harem inmates only.
